Our hands are involved in almost every task we complete while at work, placing them at constant risk of injury. For employees, a hand injury can have devastating consequences, often resulting in painful amputations, breaks and lacerations. Next World’s VR Hand Safety course takes trainees through an immersive warehouse environment, teaching them the critical information they need to avoid the risk of serious hand injuries.

The central focus of this course is to teach employees the importance of hand safety when working in hazardous environments.
- Inspect various work areas and identify potential hand hazards, such as pinch points, entanglement risks, laceration hazards, and burn risks.
- Learn to apply appropriate safety measures to protect their hands, including using the correct PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for specific tasks, following lock-out/tag-out procedures, avoiding shortcuts, and staying alert and aware of their surroundings.
- Understand the significance of proper hand placement and positioning to prevent hand injuries. Learn to consider hand positioning in relation to moving objects, rotating components, machinery, and potential hazards.
- Gain knowledge about selecting and using the right gloves for different tasks and hazards. Understand the importance of using gloves that provide adequate protection, such as cut-resistant gloves, heat-resistant gloves, and gloves suitable for handling hazardous substances.
- Independently assess work areas for hand hazards, take appropriate photos to document hazards, and make informed decisions regarding hazard identification. Learn to answer questions and provide feedback on hand safety situations effectively.
