Hazardous energy is particularly dangerous due to its inability to be easily visualised in real time. Sadly, workplace accidents resulting from poor Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures tend to be serious or fatal – amputation, electrocution and burns are some of the most common injuries. Next World’s LOTO training is designed to deliver (virtual) hands on exposure to the fundamental steps for safe LOTO. Participants walkthrough multiple in-depth LOTO procedures, covering knowledge that can be applied across various equipment types and energy sources. The experience includes a set of new immersive features; the ability to interactively open and close gate valves, push 3D buttons, and engage with virtual “pockets”, which allow participants to store and retrieve items from their VR body.
Our VR Learning Experiences are built from the ground up to offer the most immersive training environment possible. Because of this deep user immersion, VR training has been proven to result in much higher retention rates – up to 80% one year after training, compared to just 20% from traditional training methods.
Each of our Learning Experiences has a unique gamification system in place, allowing us to engage the user in the training requirements. We use a combination of points and quizzes to test and understand any shortfalls in the users’ knowledge. This method of gamification learning achieves on average assessment scores of 93%.
